House Rules

  • 1. No Smoking

    The Don is a non smoking property both inside and outside of the house.

  • 2. Max Capacity

    Max capacity for this unit is 14 individuals.

  • 3. No Pets

    No pets are allowed in The Don.

  • 4. Noise

    Guest and visitors must keep noise to a minimum as not to disturb the occupants of neighboring properties, especially during nighttime hours (i.e. 10:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m.) and upon arrival and departure.


    Excessive noise is prohibited at all times and may result in termination of the vacation rental agreement, eviction, loss of rental paid and extra charges.

  • 5. Children

    Guests are fully responsible for the safety & security of their children at all times especially on decks and around pool.  No children are allowed in the pool without supervision.

  • 6. Visitors

    Guests are allowed visitors as long as the maximum capacity of 14 is not exceeded.


    Any additional overnight visitors must be approved in advance during booking process.


    All visitors must adhere to these same rules & guests are responsible for any visitor's actions.

  • 7. Parties / Gatherings

    Parties & large gatherings of any kind are strictly prohibited at The Don.


    Small gatherings must comply with other rules set regarding noise and number of visitors and children supervision.

  • 8. Garbage & Recycling

    Guests & visitors must dispose of garbage and recycling in accordance with the usual practice of Ocean Isle. 


    Garbage & recycling arrangements at The Don are: 

    • January-March & October-December: Tuesday morning collection.
    • April-September: Tuesday & Saturday morning collection.
    • Place trash at road in provided bins the night before collection.
  • 9. HVAC / Energy Efficiency

    • The thermostate for cooling should not be set below 72 degrees fahrenheit.
    • Keep windows and doors closed when A/C is on.
    • Anytime guests leave rental, it is their responsibility to ensure all windows and doors are closed & locked.
    • Guests must switch off fans, electronics such as T.V.'s when not in use.
  • 10. Swimming Pool

    The swimming pool should only be used during daylight hours. 


    No glassware is permitted around the pool area.


    Children are not allowed in pool without adult supervision.

  • 11. Decks / Balconies

    Guests must supervise any babies and children at all times when using the deck / balcony areas. 


    No climbing or hanging on the deck rails. 


    No glassware should be placed on the railing of the decks.

  • 12. Damages

    All damages and breakages must be reported to the rental company as soon as reasonably practical.

  • 13. Moving Furniture & Grill Use

    No furniture should be moved from one room to another.


    The gas grill is to be used at the ground level only and must be attended at all times. 


    Move gas grill away from house when in use. 


    No bathroom towels or other linens should be removed from property.
